New Worlds Engineering

Some civilizations adapt to the worlds they find. The greatest engineering civilizations eventually do the opposite: they build the worlds they need.

New-worlds engineering is the technology branch that makes artificial Earth-like planets possible. It combines matter conversion, extreme energy control, orbital mechanics, atmospheric synthesis, biosphere seeding, and long-duration planetary management.

Core Themes

  • transform matter into energy or other matter
  • reshape large planets into habitable worlds
  • adjust orbit, mass, gravity, and climate for life
  • generate air, oceans, minerals, and biosphere support systems
  • leave behind planetary scaffold sites such as the planet belly button

Nested Worldbuilding Layers

Canon Default

This technology is among the most ambitious in the setting. It is powerful enough to manufacture habitable worlds, but not perfect enough to guarantee success. That imperfection is what creates abandoned worlds, strange ecologies, and entire historical layers of failed creation.
